Demba Ba has revealed that his favourite moment in black and white stripes was when Newcastle beat Manchester United 3-0 at St. James’ Park last season. The occasion is one that many fans won’t need reminding of. The Senegalese striker scored the first of the three goals for Newcastle, with Yohan Cabaye and an own goal from Phil Jones completing a memorable day on Tyneside. It was a highlight of what was a very successful season for the Toon. Nevertheless, the memories of last season’s win were a stark contrast to Manchester United’s visit to St. James’ Park this season as Newcastle found themselves on the wrong end of a 3-0 scoreline. Ba admits that the team are feeling extra pressure on them this season, especially as they haven’t started the campaign particularly well. Speaking to Footy-Boots, he said: “We need to get better than last season, and if we get better we are going to be in a better position. But so far we haven’t been very, very good. Not too bad, but not very good. We just have to find our way back.” Nevertheless, Ba shouldn’t have to worry about his form too much as he’s been one of the stand-out players for the team so far this season. The Newcastle striker was asked what restrictions are imposed on him as a professional footballer: “I go to bed late usually when I am on holiday or something, because of football I go a bit early. So that’s probably the main thing I am doing. But food wise I am eating everything, I have to eat.” What’s your favourite moment featuring Demba Ba in black and white stripes?
