Despite Newcastle’s poor form as of late, the Geordie faithful made themselves known at the Britannia Stadium last night. Newcastle were subjected to their fourth consecutive league defeat when Stoke came back to beat Alan Pardew’s men 2-1. Papiss Cisse opened the scoring early on in the second half, however two late goals in quick succession meant that the visitors left the Britannia empty handed. Stoke manager Tony Pulis was happy to get the last laugh after the Toon fans were heard chanting “you’re just a tramp in a tracksuit” throughout the game. The Stoke manager took the chant in good humour. Speaking after the match, he said: “I thought the chant was pretty funny – and I’ve got my suit on now.” The away fans doing us all proud again! And great to see Pulis seeing the fun in it all. Hats off to those who went to the game and supported the team despite another disappointing result.
