Newcastle striker Papiss Cisse admits that whilst he is happy to have scored in last night’s game, he wishes the entire team were celebrating as well. Cisse opened the scoring early in the second half when the keeper failed to hold on to a Demba Ba strike. Many thought that it was the winning goal, however Stoke scored two in three minutes towards the end of the game to take the victory. The Newcastle no.9 is happy to have got his second goal of the season, especially as the first was one he knew very little about. Nevertheless, he wishes the team were celebrating a win. Speaking to the Chronicle, Cisse said: “The goal was important for me but the most important thing for me is the fact the team wins. I scored, but the team did not win. “I was very happy to score and my team-mates were happy for me but we would much rather be celebrating a win together.” A disappointing result, but great to see Cisse score. Do you think his goal will be the start of many more?
